I said I would be making a list and I am so here we go people, let me know what you all think in the comments below. This list of my top 10 consists of Disney and no Disney/Pixar combined projects. Just straight up magic. I would like to mention the honourable ones though that didn’t make the list first. “Beauty and the Beast”, “I see the light” from Tangled and “Hakuna Matata” from The Lion King.

And now, here we go.

Aren’t they adorable? 🙂

10. “Bare Necessities” from The Jungle Book

I know I was upset at Disney for putting Bare Necessities at the bottom of the list, but I just didn’t believe it deserved to be put at number 29. I mean, come on this happy song deserves better.

9. “God Help the Outcasts” from The Hunchback of Notre Dame

This song speaks to the heart of everyone who has ever felt alienated by the people around them. It’s a plea to a figure who is believed to protect all humans on earth. And yet you look around at the people who are suffering and wonder when they will finally be as happy as they deserve to be.

8. “Just around the riverbend” from Pocahontas

This song talks about dreams and how we should all be in control of our own. We should all be able to decide what we do with our lives. Follow through with what your heart tells you to do and listen to no one else.

7. “Almost there” from Princess and the Frog

This one is about working hard and believing that you will succeed as long as you keep pushing your limits and challenging yourself. Tiana sings about following her fathers restaurant dream and how she was so close to making it come true.

6. “Son of Man” from Tarzan

This song resonated with me since I was a kid. If you listen to the lyrics, it is a song about encouraging a struggling young man to find his place in the world he lives in. It talks about how he will one day be the man he wants to be if he just keeps trying to be himself.

5. “Friend Like Me” from Aladdin

Rest in Peace Robin Williams and thank you for giving us this fun-loving song about life and how to make the most of it.

4. “You’ll be in my heart” from Tarzan

If I had kids, I would sing them this song. Although, Tarzan was different, Kala took him in and raised him as her own, all while keeping him close to her heart.

3. “I’m Still Here” from Treasure Planet

People forget about this movie so often is it makes me sad. It’s a spin off of the Treasure Island book by Robert Louis Stevenson, where everything happens in space. Jim Hawkins is the main character who loses his father very early on. This song represents Jim’s journey to becoming the man his father never taught him to be.

2. “Reflection” from Mulan

It’s just like I said before, I love this song.

1.”Will the sun ever shine again” from Home on the Range

If you have never seen this movie, you will appreciate every second you take to go out and find it to watch it. It was originally sung by Bonnie Raitt and if you think about the lyrics of the song and what is happening in the movie, it sort of talks about mental illness. Turns out the sun does eventually shine, you just have to keep your spirits up the best you can.

Honestly there are a lot more songs I could put on this list, but these are the best for now I think. Let me know what you all think 🙂
