So yesterday I woke up at noon and for those of you that know me, you know that that is very unlike my usual schedule. I like to have lots of thing done before noon in order to enjoy the rest of my day. I can’t exactly do that if I can’t get out of bed.
Truth is I woke up at 8 am and thought, hey this is your day off Alexis! Why are you up this early? So I went back to sleep.
Then I woke up again at 9:30 thinking, I don’t feel quite as refreshed as I would like to…I guess I need more sleep than I thought. Then I feel back asleep again.
The last time this happened was around 10:45ish and I realized that I still wasn’t all that motivated to get out of bed. So I laid there waiting to feel motivated and never did. At some point, I closed my eyes and fell back asleep, finally officially waking up at 11:50ish.
I couldn’t believe it. I had slept half of the day away.
I sat up, sort of wishing I had gotten up earlier but also not feeling all that refreshed.
I went to the washroom, checked my emails and then started up the stairs.
That’s when I knew something was out of sorts.
I felt faint, my pulse was running a marathon at full speed, I started sweating and it wasn’t even that hot. I walked carefully up the stairs and took my vitamins from the cupboard, just before reaching into the fridge for my supplements of iron.
I knew it wouldn’t be good if I fainted alone in the house, but I also had things to do. So slowly I puttered through the house as the color came back into my face.
The moral of this story is that you should never allow your iron to fall below a certain point. And if you are me, you know that that usually has occurred when you stay in bed until the day is gone 😉
